Dr. Veleka S. Gatling

Our founder, Dr. Veleka S. Gatling, has committed her life to seeking opportunities for educators and community members to achieve excellence in their fields of expertise, while promoting equity. With over 25 years in public education, Dr. Gatling has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, executive director of special and gifted programs, and executive director of professional learning in various school divisions in Hampton Roads. She has also served as an adjunct professor in the department of educational leadership at Old Dominion University. Dr. Gatling has provided keynotes and breakout sessions at state and national conferences on topics related to facilitating better conversations to promote visible equity. Dr. Gatling is a Qualified Assessor of the Intercultural Development Inventory. She is also a Certified Trainer of Bold, Inclusive Conversations for public, private and non-profit organizations.
